Local Strategic Partnerships – Delivering a ‘Common Vision’

Objective – To work with Local Strategic Partnerships throughout the country, helping them to align the visions and strategies of the various stakeholder groups and to develop better collaborative working as a result.

Engagement – Spirals are an approved supplier to the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) and have been commissioned by them to work with LSPs throughout the country to help align vision and strategies and develop the collaborative working skills needed to meet the ‘place-shaping’ agenda.

To date Spirals have worked with the following LSPs: Ipswich, Gloucester, Walsall. Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Dudley, South Gloucestershire, Bradford, Kerrier, Preston, Mid Sussex, Chorley, South Ribble, Amber Valley, Hackney and One Cornwall.

Phasing – We worked closely with the IDeA to develop module 1 that set the scene by looking at the new integrated system that is central to the modernisation agenda.  After this module we asked the different groups to identify how closely their strategies complement each other and how easy it is to recognise the place through the strategies.

The workshop then spent time helping the groups to align their strategies, making place very specific to them and helping them to understand the full range of ‘tools’ available to them.

Module 2 is then offered to the LSPs a few weeks after module 1.  This is a practical action planning workshop that helps them to make real progress on the actions identified in module 1.

Result – The feedback from these workshops has been excellent with delegates appreciating not only the formal learning, but the informal networking that has happened through the workshops.
