Modernising a Planning Service
We were asked to help a planning team which was struggling to meet its BVPI targets and to improve its CPA rating. By working with the team we were able to highlight a number of areas where time was being lost unnecessarily. The staff were involved in the whole process and accepted the need to change. An action plan was prepared which showed that around 4 to 5 weeks could be saved with a few simple changes to how applications were processed.
We were asked to continue working with the service to help prepare a project plan to ensure the key dates in the agreed Local Development Framework would be met. The project plan was prepared with the team and has been formally submitted. A detailed project plan has been prepared with key milestones to monitor performance.
