Efficiency gains for a City Services Department
Spirals was asked to look at time recording for a city council across a whole department with around 400 staff, including operatives and officers. The brief included the need to work alongside staff to develop the culture to deliver annual efficiency savings. Through a series of workshops we prepared maps showing how it works now. Analysis of the maps showed areas of duplication and how better use of ICT could help. An action plan was prepared to remove the duplication and to free up staff. This work led to savings in the order of £50,000 to £100,000.
