Spirals praised during North East Lincolnshire Economic Wellbeing Launch
23rd January 2009
The ten year Economic Wellbeing Strategy for North East Lincolnshire was lauched last week to much optimism and praise.
The strategy, developed by Spirals, to tackle worklessness in the area, was proclaimed to be an innovative and creative approach to to the challenge of reducing unemployment and benefit dependancy in the area, a challenge made all the harder by the current economic climate.
Val Waterhouse, chair of the PCT and the Economic Development theme of the LSP said:
"we have been working with Spirals a really energetic company who have been excellent throughout this process and without them we wouldn't have got where we are today. They have been fantastic."
David Elverson, Commercial Director of Sprirals and project lead for this project responded to this praise recognising that the hard work starts now:
"It has been great to work with the team in North East Lincolnshire. They are very forward thinking in their approach and are genuninly looking to change the area for the better over the long term. Its great to recieve praise for the work we have done but the hard work starts now. A strategy is only as good as the way it is used and implemented and over the coming months we will be working with the team to help them make the strategy work."
