Project Management

Over the last twenty years Simon Pomfret (our managing director) has developed our unique methodology known as Deliverying Successful Projects™. The methodology was developed based on common sense and what works. We use it on all our assignments to ensure they are successful and we also train over people in its key elements.

At the last count over 3,000 people had been trained in our methodology from a wide range of organisations across Local Government, NHS, private sector and charities. This includes the Metropolitan Police Authority and the Centre for Public Scrutiny. The methology takes a pragmatic approach and focuses on project planning, project leadership and project management. It includes our knowledge and experience gained over many years on live projects. We can work with you to:

  • Develop a common project management methodology for your organisation
  • Deliver project management training for your project managers and project sponsors
  • Develop project plans for your key projects
  • Provide you with a project manager

This allows your staff to remain concentrated on delivering their priorities, rather than taking on additional work that they may not have the appropriate skills to deliver successfully. We can work alongside your staff in a range of roles to give additional resources and expertise as required. We can provide advice and support for any size or complexity of project.

Delivery of projects on time and to budget is central to ensuring tight budgets are used as effectively as possible. Our experienced project managers have an excellent track record in helping clients to deliver outcomes through their projects. The successful implementation of projects and change initiatives is a fundamental capability that all organisations need.

Many project teams welcome the discipline of meeting regularly with an external consultant to review project progress. Spirals can lead or contribute to your project review meetings, keeping you on track.

Every project when complete should be fully evaluated. There is much to be learned, as well as celebrated when the task is achieved. Spirals can provide an impartial, external evaluation, preparing a report that will carry weight with funding organisations and other stakeholders.
